This evening we took a drive out to Anna Maria island to see the sunset, because after all, beaches and sunsets go together like peas and carrots. And as a bonus, the weather was absolutely beautiful. Florida sunsets never disappoint.

Yesterday we took a ride out to Myakka State Park in Sarasota. We explored some trails, went up to the top of the tower, and of course, saw some alligators. 🐊 There were quite a few people out taking advantage of the nice weather.

So yesterday we did a thing…we decided to seriously upgrade our towing capacity! With our old F250, we were VERY close to maxing out our payload capacity. Towing wasn’t an issue, but I never really felt “comfortable” with our setup. Enter our new F450. Our payload capacity went from 2896 lbs to 5086 lbs! We had a heck of a time finding the truck we wanted until, by chance, we stopped into a dealer who had a bunch of 450’s sitting on the lot. I’m not gonna lie, deciding to upgrade was a hard pill to swallow, but this thing is awesome! And now, we feel much more comfortable in making the jump to full-time!

Tuesday we decided to check out Disney Springs. It’s been years since we were last there (like 5+) but we were happy to see some of our favorites are still there (mainly Gideons 🤣). Crowds weren’t too bad and although it was a little warm, the weather was beautiful.

Awning shades for the win! At this particular site we are at, the passenger side of the RV would take a beating from the sun, even with the awnings out. Found these shades on Amazon and they already seem to be making a huge difference. Now we can sit outside and enjoy the scenery without getting cooked!

A couple of nights ago, we took the e-bikes out to the lake at TTO (Thousand Trails Orlando) to see the Disney fireworks. I believe these are from Magic Kingdom. They were a little far, but it was still a nice show and the temp outside was perfect!

Thousand Trails Orlando - Overall, nice spots. Some are huge with plenty of room, others are a little “tight”. I’ll never complain about a level pull-through, but let me know in the comments below, too tight or just right? Thankfully the people next to us are super friendly, but this is probably the tightest we have ever been. It’s on the drivers side and we’re totally okay with it, but we’re curious to know what you think. Would you move, or stay and enjoy the company? 😂

Today is a little flashback to the day we brought our first rig home (FR Alpha Wolf), and then to our current rig (Keysyone Cougar). Our first RV will always be special, but we love our Cougar!

Our Keystone Cougar 316RLS has these, what I’m calling, omnidirectional A/C vents (top photo) which we are not fans of. After a little searching, I found a directional vent (bottom photo) which fit perfectly! Now we can direct the air flow where we want it, and even close the vent if needed. Super simple change out, and I think it’s a nice upgrade!

Took out the crappy, uncomfortable sofa that used to sit between these two end tables and replaced it with a desk. Now we have a nice little workstation to edit videos and do computer stuff.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has always been a special place for us. Cheryl and I (Ken) honeymooned here, and we brought the kids here for many years so they could see snow. Even though it’s one of the busiest parks in the country, it still holds a special place in our hearts.

This is probably one of the best Harvest Hosts we have stayed at! The Broadslab Distillery in Benson NC. They offer 4-5 gravel “sites” in a large open lot right across the street from the distillery. Plus it’s only 4 miles from I95! Harvest Hosts for the win!

Operation “RV Dig Out” was a success! The push broom did absolutely nothing, so we had to resort to something with a little more umpf! Happy to report that all of the snow has been removed from the roof and we are one step closer to heading out! The membrane is intact and all of the roof fixtures are in good shape.

This morning we arrived in NYC! We got up early and were able to see the Statue of Liberty along with the Manhattan skyline from the ship. It was cold and rainy, but getting up early definitely paid off.
